Hot.
It is very hot here right now. As a runner, needless to say, I hate it. I have been getting up at 6:00 AM to run to try and beat the heat. As if its cool then. This morning when I got back it was already 77 with a dewpoint of 72 and humidity in the 90th percentile. In a word it is gross out. The only redeeming feature was sprinklers. I love sprinklers.
My running has not been very good of late because of the heat. Its impossible to run well in this weather. I end up soaked by the first mile; I feel like I am always at least somewhat dehydrated. I have occasionally had symptoms such as chills and goosebumps even. Not good.
In this weather, you really understand what Stonewall Jackson meant by crossing over the river to rest under the shade of the trees. This is southern-style heat — hot AND humid. So be it, but you know, if its going to be this hot, then I want a mild winter to go with it.
